There are 70 orphans in moldova needing a home this christmas
In the past year, Pastor Jeff and dedicated volunteers from Kingdom Bridges have been ministering in an orphanage in the village of Tîrnova, Moldova. There are approximately 80 children aged 5 to 16 in the orphanage. Although the institution is technically designated only for children with respiratory issues, many of the orphans residing there are not sick but have no alternative place to go.
As part of its efforts to align with European Union standards, Moldova has been actively closing orphanages. Consequently, children from these institutions are either placed in the foster care system throughout the country or, in many cases, returned to their own families.
Unfortunately, entering the foster system often presents its own set of challenges, as many orphans become lost within this system without proper care or supervision. This dilemma is precisely why the Tîrnova orphanage initially allowed non-sick orphans to find refuge and accepted in this specialized institutions.
On the other hand, those who are returned to their own families often face even greater hardships. These families frequently grapple with issues such as alcoholism, extreme poverty, and various challenges that hinder their ability to provide proper parenting and support for their children’s overall development and education.
Recently, the Moldovan government made a significant decision: only children with confirmed respiratory diagnoses, approximately 7 in total, will be allowed to continue residing in the Tîrnova orphanage. As a result, approximately 70 orphans will be displaced from the institution by the end of this year. The Moldovan government’s plan is to either place them in the foster care system or return them to family members who had previously rejected them.
Our partners are actively working to ensure these vulnerable children find safe places and loving homes by the end of December. We urgently seek your support, both in prayer and through donations, to assist in placing these children. All funds received will be utilized for expenses related to placing these children. Any excess funds raised will be directed toward the Summit Center and the launch of a ministry that provides housing and training for older orphans transitioning out of the orphanage and care systems throughout Moldova. We deeply appreciate your willingness to join us in bringing the hope of Jesus to least of these.

Our ministry at the orphanage in partnership with communitas
Pray for denise Of communitas
Communitas is a non-profit we work with in Moldova. Anatol Malancea is the Director, and Denise leads the day-to-day operations (in the above picture.) Denise grew up in an orphanage and knows the plight of orphans in Moldova. Denise has served the children in the Orphanage in Tirnova for many years. In the picture above, he advises the older teens on what to do as they soon leave the orphanage because they are too old. Most in this photo are 16 or under. Denise has been finding good homes for these children and others like them for many years. Denise is working even harder because over 50 children will need a home. Pray for Denise and our partners as they advocate for these children. Denise and many others in Moldova are being the hands and feet of Jesus for these precious children.
What we are we doing to find homes
- We are working with our partners in the Baptist Union to place children in their children's Homes. We have worked with these folks for many years. Ion Miron and Lena Botnari lead this wonderful ministry that provides family homes for over 300 orphans. They can bring some of the children from Tiranova to their homes.
- Denise of Communitas with Charlotte of Pilgrims ministry is placing older girls in Transitional Homes in the Northern region of Moldova. Pilgrims International is a new partner who does excellent work. They have a boarding school that cares for and trains young women ages 12 to early twenties.
- We are working on getting Summit Center operational to begin training these children and providing resources to help the older orphans prepare for life independently.
- Our latest news is we are working hard to open a transitional home for boys in Antonest, Moldova. A local church has agreed to allow us to use a large home they own to host these children. Charlotte, Anatol, and Denise with Kingdom Bridges are working to open the home ASAP to receive up to 12 boys. The new home will make a big difference for these boys and many more. This ongoing work started on Pastor Jeff's trip to Moldova in March of 2023. The situation in Tirnova is speeding up our timetable.
- The Lord is at work. In the spring, our trip to this orphanage led us to pursue finishing the Summit Center and looking at opening a home for boys. We now know why we were led in that direction. Our ministry is about bridging relationships that see heaven touch earth. We see all these groups coming together to help these children.
How can you help?
Pray! We are calling prayer warriors to join us in praying that mountains will move so we can find homes for all of the children being released from Tirnova. Pray for Denise as he leads the way in finding homes. Pray for Charlotte of Pilgrims International as her team works to do the same. Pray we can bring everything together to open a home for boys in Antonesti. Opening this home is our most enormous mountain. We are speeding our timetable up, so we need prayers for a Christmas Miracle to see this happen. Pray that we can raise the necessary support to help with the expenses of finding homes for the children and funding the new boys' home for a year. Pray for Pastor Jeff as he leaves Christmas day to be on the field, working with our partners to make these dreams a reality. Thank you for your prayers and support. If you want to give, use the link below. All funds provided will be used to help with expenses and fund the home in Antonest.
