FRONT LINE MINISTRY

As the image above shows, Kherson sits directly in the crossfire of the war between Ukraine and Russia. Right in the middle of this war zone stands a church that has not abandoned its people. They have not fled. Instead, Pastor Evgenii Skantsev and his congregation remain in Kherson—faithfully carrying out gospel ministry at great cost.
In the photos below, you can see the devastation firsthand. A bomb landed in the center of the church and exploded. Shrapnel tore through the sanctuary, leaving the building scarred. Pastor Evgenii and his people were left to pick up the pieces, both literally and spiritually.
Because churches are a target—gathering places of hope and encouragement for the people—the congregation now rarely meets in the church building. Still, despite the danger, they continue their ministry, refusing to let fear silence the gospel.
This church is one of our 30 Kingdom Bridges Network churches, and they need your prayers and your partnership. Please stand with them. Pray for their courage and protection. And if you are able, support us as we support them—helping rebuild, restore, and keep the light of Christ shining in the darkest of places.

THE CHURCH KEEPS SHARING AND SHOWING THE LOVE OF JESUS

The scenes you see in these photos are very different from the devastation shown above. Here, you witness the church in action. Because we know—the church is not a building, it’s a people. Though their building has been bombed, scarred, and left in ruins, Pastor Evgenii Skantsev and his congregation continue to carry the gospel into their community.
You see smiling faces. You see Bibles being handed out. You see baptisms taking place, lives being changed, and hope rising in the midst of war. Even though they cannot gather in their church building—because it remains a dangerous target—they scatter throughout Kherson. They meet people where they are: teaching the Bible, preaching the gospel, feeding the hungry, and loving their neighbors.
This is happening in one of the hottest war zones in Ukraine, where bombs fall daily and shells strike without warning. There is no escape. And yet, the church stays. The pastor ministers. The gospel goes forward.
This is who we are as the Kingdom Bridges Network—brave, courageous churches serving Christ in the hardest places. We share their story with you today so you can stand with them. Please continue to pray, uplift, and encourage them. And if you are able, know that every gift you give through Kingdom Bridges goes directly to support this work—strengthening the hands of those bringing light into the darkest corners of Ukraine.
Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your support. Together, we bring hope where it is most needed.
